Central Coast College offers a new Veterinary Technology program that recently received full accreditation by the American Veterinary Medical Association Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (A.V.M.A-C.V.T.E.A). The Veterinary Technology program offers an Associates of Applied Science (AAS) degree. Central Coast College’s Veterinary Technology program is the only CVTEA-accredited program offered in Hollister, San Benito, Santa Cruz tri-county area.
The Veterinary Technology program consists of two academic years, with the first year completing Veterinary Assistant program and giving students the option of a second year that fulfills the requirements for an AAS degree in Veterinary Technology.
Graduates of the Veterinary Technology program are eligible for State licensing as a Registered Veterinary Technician (R.V.T.) after successfully passing the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE) and California State Veterinary Technician Examinations.
