HEERF II Student Grants
Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds II (HEERF II)
The Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II (HEERF II) is authorized by the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 (CRRSAA), Public Law 116-260, signed into law on Dec. 27, 2020. In total, the CRRSAA authorizes $81.88 billion in support for education, in addition to the $30.75 billion expeditiously provided last spring through the Coronavirus Aid, Recovery, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, Public Law 116-136.
On January 2, 2021, Central Coast College applied for and received HEERF II Student Grant funding in the amount of $354,249.
Students who were actively enrolled on or before February 28, 2021 were eligible for HEERF II Grant funding. In order to receive funding, the student must have completed a HEERF II Student Certification form advising Central Coast College on how to process this funding on their behalf. Students had two options:
Option 1 – Students could elect to have the grant award applied to their student account balance, or;
Option 2 – Students could elect to receive the grant funding in a form of a check.
A total of 301 students qualified for a HEERF II Grant in the amount of $2,100 each. A total of 10 students elected to pay down their student account balance with the grant and 291 elected to receive the grant payment in a form of a check.
The total distribution of all funding for the CARES and HEERF II Funding is as follows:
