The scholarship was for $20,000! With this scholarship, Carisma was able to enroll in the Ultrasound Technician program at Central Coast College. Carisma also has the opportunity to complete her 960 hours of UT externship working with the SVMH Radiology department or Imaging Center and is guaranteed a future UT position in that department for a minimum of 2 years.

Carisma will complete her Ultrasound Technician Associate of Applied Science (UT AAS) program in June 2023. She is grateful for the opportunity SVMH and their scholarship have afforded her, as well as the education and training she has received at CCC. Carisma says, “Thank you for making this dream come true and for offering a program with flexibility. Balancing a family, work and school is tough but here I am pushing through it all.”
