Guadalupe “Lupita” Esqueda, Veterinary Technology Program

Guadalupe came to Central Coast College to pursue career training. She chose CCC because it was close to home, but also because she found the CCC staff to be so supportive. Guadalupe says, “…from the moment I signed up for the Vet Tech program everyone at the office was very helpful and caring. This made me feel confident in picking Central Coast College as my college.”

Guadalupe chose to pursue Veterinary Technology training because of her love for animals. Of her choice, Guadalupe says, “I also picked out the vet tech program because I love animals and I want to do my all to help and be the voice for those that don’t have a voice to speak up and tell us how they feel.”

Instructor Nancy Jobst chose to highlight Guadalupe for the Student Spotlight because of how impressed she has been with Guadalupe’s work ethic and caring nature. Jobst says, “I chose Lupita because she is always on time or early to class… (she) has a cheerful disposition and is always kind to the animals and classmates. She gets her homework in on time and it is complete. She participates in the class group discussions with thoughtful consideration and interesting ideas. Lupita helps other classmates with technology and studying.” Jobst also feels Guadalupe has great potential for success in her future career, saying, ”I anticipate that she will be diligent when she does her externship, and she will be hired right away. I would like to work with her in the future and I would tell potential employers that fact.”

The Veterinary Technology Program at Central Coast College

CCC’s Veterinary Technology program is designed to teach students the theoretical knowledge and practical hands-on skills to enter this rewarding career path.
