The Cardiac Sonography AAS program is offered in a hybrid format. General Education and introductory courses will primarily be online using Interactive Distance Learning (IDL). The core Cardiac Sonography principles and subjects will be taught in a hybrid format, theory will be conducted online while labs will be held on campus.

In Central Coast College’s Cardiac Sonography AAS degree program, you’ll gain real-world skills, including how to verify patient history and health status, use ultrasound devices and other imaging tools that use sound waves to create images of the heart, inspecting the chambers and walls of the heart as well as the valves, record and analyze findings in real time during the exam, and communicate findings with interpreting and referring physicians. Our hands-on training prepares you for the tasks employers are hiring for, and the AAS degree courses prepare you to be a more well-rounded job candidate, with courses in Medical Terminology, Laws and Ethics, Pharmacology, English Composition, American Government, Business Math, Critical Thinking, and Professional Development.
