Central Coast College’s Computer Specialist- Accounting program is a 48-week program designed to prepare students with intensive training emphasizing accounting principles, workplace computer skills, written and oral communication skills, and knowledge of office procedures. In the Computer Specialist: Accounting program, students learn:

  • Accounting Principles (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll)
  • Manual and Computerized Accounting Environments
  • Accounting Theories with Hands-on Practice
  • Workplace Computer Skills in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel
  • Computerized Spreadsheets
  • Word Processing
  • Payroll
  • Written and Oral Communication Skills

Students in the Computer Specialist: Accounting program also benefit from real-world, practical experience through a five-week externship course. Upon completion of the program, graduates receive a Certificate of Completion, Office Specialist: Accounting diploma, and are prepared for positions including as an Accounting Clerk, Auditing Clerk, Bookkeeping Clerk, Payroll Clerk, and Accounts Receivable/ Accounts Payable Manager. 

CCC’s Medical Administrative Assistant program is also 100% online, and this 48-week program is designed to provide students with intensive training emphasizing medical accounting, billing, and record keeping, office procedures and equipment, computer skills and keyboarding, and healthcare fundamentals. In the Medical Administrative Assistant program, students learn:

  • Medical Terminology and Anatomy
  • Medical Office Procedures and Equipment
  • Medical Record Keeping
  • Electronic Medical Records and Computerized Medical Management Systems
  • Medical Insurance Billing
  • Introduction to Medical Coding
  • PC Fundamentals in Microsoft Word and Excel Programs
  • Written and Oral Communication Skills
