CCC offers programs that are focused, concise, and designed to provide you with the precise skills and knowledge you need to be successful in your new career. With Central Coast College, you can train to be a Medical Assistant or Veterinary Assistant in less than a year! Medical Assistant

     CCC’s Medical Assisting program is achievable in as few as 46 weeks and is designed to prepare students for essential positions in the field of healthcare. Through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on experience in an externship, students learn medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, diagnostic and treatment procedures, medical office procedures and insurance billing. Graduates of the Medical Assisting program earn a Certificate of Completion, Diploma in Medical Assisting. 

Veterinary Assistant program

     The Veterinary Assistant program is achievable in as few as 38 weeks and is designed to prepare students to work in the field of veterinary healthcare. Through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on experience in an externship, students learn how to prepare veterinary exam rooms, maintain and sterilize surgical instruments, intake animals for exams, feed, bathe, and exercise animals, restrain animals during procedures, give medications and immunizations, and care for and monitor animals after surgery or treatment. Upon completion of the program, graduates of the Veterinary Assistant program receive a Certificate of Completion, Diploma in Veterinary Assisting. Students who wish to pursue an advanced education may take an additional year of courses in order to obtain their Associate of Applied Science, Veterinary Technology degree.

     At Central Coast College, our healthcare training programs have been created to provide students with the exact skills and knowledge they need in as short an amount of time as possible – so graduates can get to work sooner! Programs are offered in a hybrid-online format, so that students may complete much of their coursework online, while attending on-campus labs for hands-on skills development. Under the guidance of professional faculty, students receive personalized instruction and individualized attention. Every student is provided with the guidance and support they need in order to be successful. 

     Central Coast College offers a wide range of student support and career placement services to help you take that next step towards a better future. Our friendly and helpful Admissions Representatives can help you choose which program is right for you, and even help you enroll and register for courses. CCC’s Financial Aid Office will assist you in applying for any financial aid programs for which you are eligible, and can provide assistance with completing and submitting a Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The Career Services department provides students with a wide range of career support services, including resume writing assistance, job searching and networking, interviewing skills, and comprehensive job placement assistance. With CCC’s student support, financial aid, and career placement services, you will be supported every step of the way.
