Jenae Montemayor, Veterinary Technology program

Jenae, a student in CCC’s Veterinary Technology program, has a career goal to be a registered vet technician, saying “I chose to be a RVT because of my great interest in working with animals and wanting to be in the medical field.” Jenae came to Central Coast College for its focused, practical programs and hand-on training. “I chose Central Coast College because of their promising hands-on programs and well-made courses to make career goals achievable in a great time frame,” said Jenae.

Instructor Patty Zehna, RVT chose to highlight Jenae for the Student Spotlight. Zehna praised Jenae’s work ethic and energy, saying of Jenae, “This hardworking, energetic, and smart student does so with the quiet confidence of a ninja. Her positive presence exerts its influence on the whole class environment. It should come as no surprise Jen is very well liked and admired by her classmates. I feel fortunate to have taught Jen in both years of her journey towards becoming a veterinary technician and have no doubt she will be successful at whatever form that takes.”

Central Coast College’s Veterinary Assistant program gives students hands-on experience working with animals in order to thoroughly prepare them for careers as Veterinary Assistants.
